Annual Report 2025-26 - Our Biggest Year to Date!

We know, we say it every year, but this one really was something else.

Over the last year, Scran Academy has supported 113 young people across programmes and volunteering opportunities, opened a second youth-led café inside the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, expanded employability pathways, strengthened youth voice, and nearly doubled in size.

This year has been one of the most significant in Scran’s journey so far. Opening a second café inside the hospital has been a huge milestone, not just because of scale, but because of what it represents. Thousands of families, NHS staff and visitors are now being welcomed every year by young people earning real jobs, and stepping into responsibility in a live, fast-paced environment. Customer service, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, communication, all developed through real work, in real time, with real trust placed in them. And they have responded to that trust in ways that continue to surprise and inspire us.

Alongside the cafés, our wider programmes have continued to grow in impact. This year we awarded our highest number of qualifications to date, a whopping 72, alongside delivering 75 group youth work sessions and working with 30 partner organisations.

This year has been packed full of highlights, from young people speaking directly to decision-makers, to running community events, securing jobs, supporting hospital families, launching businesses and achieving things they didn’t think were possible.

Everything we have achieved this year has been built together, with young people, staff, partners, and communities who continue to show up and believe in what we are doing.

And if this is what one year can look like, we are genuinely excited for what comes next.
