Catering for the future!
Scran Café is our growing chain of youth-led cafés, offering great scran, great coffee, and real opportunities. Each café is run by a team of talented professionals and young people.

​Our cafes are an important part of our work supporting young people in education, employment and wider life. It provides young people valuable experience in cooking, catering, customer service and menu development. It also hosts our Scransitions work placements providing them real-world training helping build skills, confidence and qualifications for future careers.
We're so proud to partner with NHS Lothian in our cafes, it's our beating heart and a hugely important part of Scran Academy!
We currently operate two locations:

Scran Café @ NHS Lothian Comely Bank Centre
(sadly not open to the public)
This youth-led café serves NHS staff, trainees and visitors with hot drinks, breakfasts, lunches and sweet treats including Erin’s famous brownies. It’s become a well-loved part of the centre and a safe, supportive space for young people gaining hands-on experience.

Scran Café @ The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP)
Open: Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm
4th Floor, 50 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh BioQuarter, Edinburgh, EH16 4TJ

This is our newest café, based inside RHCYP, welcoming patients, families and NHS staff. It offers a calm, bright environment and is led by young people, and our catering team. It’s quickly becoming a staff favourite.
