We Can’t Quite Believe It!

We are incredibly proud to share that Scran Academy has been named a finalist for the Qualifications Scotland Excellence Awards 2026 in the Centre of the Year category.

Two years ago, becoming a Qualification Scotland-approved centre was a huge milestone for Scran. Today, to be recognised as a finalist for Centre of the Year feels genuinely incredible.

Scran was founded because we knew there was a need for us and the work we do. We saw too many young people struggling with mainstream education.

We knew there had to be another way.

Our aim has always been to provide young people with an education that works with their needs, supports their learning style and gives them the opportunity to build skills, gain qualifications and discover what they are capable of.

Becoming a Qualification Scotland-approved centre was a huge step in that journey. It meant we could offer more young people meaningful qualifications through an approach that is both skills-based and practical, but rooted in love, trust and respect. It is about creating the relationships and environments where they feel valued, where their strengths are recognised and where they can see a future for themselves.

Seeing Qualification Scotland acknowledge us, as an employment training provider delivering vocational learning is huge, and that is clear from the incredible list of finalists across the Excellence Awards categories.

But to be shortlisted for Centre of the Year is something we could only have dreamed of, especially so early in our journey. Out of 262 nominations, we are down to only 4!

We are so proud of the young people who inspire us every single day and remind us why this work matters. This is also a major testament to their achievements. It is a recognition of the potential that every young person has and what can happen when education is designed to meet their needs.

Our vision is a Scotland where every young person has access to their human right of an

education that meets their needs, unlocks their aspirations, and enables a future with dignity.

We know there is still work to do to achieve that vision, but this accolade tells usthat we are on the right path.

We are incredibly proud of how far Scran Academy has come, and incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us get here.

Most of all, we are proud of the young people at the heart of everything we do.
