Catering for the future!

The OG Forum is our Advisory board led by young people with extensive Scran experience, shaping staffing, training, policy, and strategy to keep us authentic and youth-led.
By listening to young people and involving them in shaping our services, we help build a Scotland that better meets their needs. Young people are at the heart of everything we do. They take the lead and play a key role in shaping Scran Academy.

Recently they have created a booklet of 'top tips' for youth workers - this is really incredible nuanced guidance on the fine lines youth workers tread between being an authority figure and being alongside young people.
We use this powerful tool to train our staff, ensuring we can support young people in a way that is meaningful to them.
“The Forum worked because we decided what was important to talk about. No one from Scran was there telling us what they wanted to hear or what to say. We decided to do a top-tips because we need professional pals who see us as people, not labels. We need people with high levels of training who listen without judgement and know that we all need to be accepted for ourselves, no matter what.”
