As we come to the end of our busiest week yet, it is a good time to look at what the Scran Meals Coalition partners have achieved in six short weeks.
At the beginning of March 2020, Scran Academy was a small, grass-roots charity working with two High Schools to support struggling young people to thrive in education, work and life, with three part-time members of staff and a small team of regular volunteers.
The Scran Meals Coalition is now one of the largest providers of SAFE, FREE and NUTRITIOUS ready meals in Edinburgh. Last week alone, we sent out circa 6,000 meals to many of Edinburgh’s most vulnerable communities.
Since Lockdown Began:
Over 18,000 portions of food have been delivered direct to doorsteps!
1,090 different people have received meals from the Scran Meals Coalition.
46 different organisations and countless family members, friends and neighbours have referred those who are most affected by lockdown and covid19.
80+ volunteers are giving their time to ensure that we are able to continue supporting vulnerable people.
