My educational background is in Psychology, with postgraduate degree in addiction therapy. I have spent some of my career in the third sector, volunteering in mental health charities and working as a mental health support worker. While working towards my accreditation I have supported myself financially through cafe work eventually leading to me becoming an acting manager in my previous role before now joining the Scran Café.

I first heard of Scran Academy through my volunteering; I was looking to retrain and gain experience in youth work and teaching in order to look for future employment in the education sector and the Academy sounded like a great place to work on these skills.

Last year I had the pleasure of volunteering as a tutor and this year, I’m expanding my facilitation experience as I've joined the Academy and Scransitions programme.

Working in the Scran Cafe has allowed me to develop good relationships with young people while in my spare time working to qualify to teach English abroad in Thailand!

I'm very grateful for the opportunity to work at Scran Cafe, being able to step in a role of a big sibling, give useful life advice, teach transferable cafe skills to young people, and support them in their achievements fills my life with meaning.
